New Deck – Touchstone Tarot

Kat Blacks’ sophomore deck to the Golden Tarot is another beautiful collection, complete with golden-foiled edges and a lovely display box. This time Kat wanted to create “friends that you can hold in your hands” and called it the Touchstone Tarot to reflect that feeling.

Kat has taken old renaissance pictures and created collages for each of the cards. Some of the people look a little awkward but I think that is more about the artwork of the time than it is about what Kat has done with it. Although there are more than one card that felt like it was ‘put together’ like some of the figures don’t belong with each other. This was a little off putting at the start but each time I look at the cards I like them more.

I love the Happy Squirrel card, which is homage to a Simpson’s episode where Lisa goes to see her future and the fortuneteller lays down the Happy Squirrel card. It is a great addition and I am thinking that I will include it in some readings and see if it shows itself. Although I am not sure what interpretation would I give the card?

The card fits into the presentation box well and is also well written, it is a small sized book so is easy to hold. If you are a fan of the Golden Tarot and like collage Tarot decks then you will love the Touchstone Tarot. http://touchstonetarot.com/

Until Next time...
