Tarot Card Meanings

Major Arcana

The Major Arcana consists of the 22 cards that embody universal aspects of the human experience through symbology and archetypes. They are representations of our collective consciousness, those consistent, directing patterns of influence that are an inherent part of human nature.

Each Major Arcana card is given a number, a place in a specific well-thought-out order, and a title which links the card to its meaning and deeper lesson.

Minor Arcana - Cups

The Cups are all about offering emotional fullness. The Cups embody emotion, mood and fantasy. They represent the emotional pathway to make choices and shed light on negative feelings that are blocking our personal growth and decision-making capabilities.

The Cups are the element of water, the season of autumn, the direction of west and the colour range of blue.

Minor Arcana - Swords

The Swords are about thinking and intellect. They represent the challenge, the road and the struggle we go through with truth and clarity. The Swords are challenging us to move our minds into the realm of wisdom.

The Swords are the element of air, the season of spring, the direction of east and the colour yellow.

Minor Arcana - Pentacles

The Pentacles are all about rewarding efforts and the physical world. The Pentacles deal with our physical abilities and talents; they are about the relationships to personal service, as well as offering physical rewards for living those experiences. The ultimate quest shall be for the wisdom and the power to serve others, not the self.

The Pentacles are the element of earth (think down-to-earth), the season of winter, the direction of south, and the colours green and brown.

Minor Arcana - Wands

The Suit of Wands is associated with that which makes us individual—our enthusiasm, self-awareness and concepts, personal energy, and personalities. Within the Wands are instinctive energies, inspiration, determination, intuition, and ambition.

Though Wands are connected to the element of fire, they are indicative of the good kind of fiery passion for things that occupy your time (hobbies and so on).
