Starting Your Tarot Business – Part 3 – Your Offers and Pricing

In this part of the Starting Your Tarot Business, we discuss defining your offers and pricing.

This is video three on my tips on how to get your Tarot business started.  Nothing I say here is gospel. Take what you resonate with and leave the rest.

This advice can be used for Oracle Card Readers, Angel Card Readers, Healers, Energy workers and many other Spiritual Entrepreneurial businesses as well. I use the Tarot as my main Spiritual Tool and run a Tarot Business so this is the perspective on which I speak.

In the last video I talked about choosing a business model.

This week I am going to be discussing your next step which is

Defining your offers and pricing.

Your Business Offers – Ethony. – Your worksheet for pricing and offer mapping.

It also has space for you to Map out your offers and get your pricing down.

Defining Offers

A good place to start with this is defining and mapping out 3-5 offers for your business.

These are your readings, healings and products that you are going to offer your Clients.

I have three rules for this.

  1. Keep it simple
  2. Have range and depth
  3. Refine later

Keep it Simple

There is no need to get overwhelmed before you even get going. Simple is a blessing.

Have range and depth

This also touches on pricing but it is important to note when you are mapping out what you are going to offer your Clients.

What do I mean by range? Well let’s look at my business.

  • I have a One Question Tarot Reading for under $30.
  • I then have subject specific readings for $47
  • Then I have larger, more in depth readings from $70-90

I have range in my business and each one of the offers I mentioned above gives my Clients different things and caters to what they are looking for.

Having an offer that is like an entry level experience is a good idea. It builds trust.

I don’t believe you can just have top heavy offers when you just start out and wonder why people aren’t buying from you. If you only have $500 products and you have not built a relationship with your Clients it can be REALLY hard to get them to trust you enough to part with that much money.

People who do charge at higher rates have good track records, give a lot to their tribe and have built their businesses. Maybe it is possible to just offer offers that are over $200 and build a budding business however that has not been my experience.

Refine Later

Sometimes the thing that we think is going to be popular gets no traction and the one offer you thought was going to flop, sores. You can’t refine what you don’t have out there!

Start and see what happens and then take it from there.

I have more than 5 offers for my Clients but that has taken me years to refine and I have added and taken away as well.

Questions that you will want to answer when you are building your offers are:

This is also included in the downloadable worksheet.

What is your offer?

Are you offering a specific type of reading?

What does that include for your Client?

If you had to tell someone in one sentence what your offer is, could you? If it is muddy to you, it is going to be muddy to your potential clients.

What problem am I solving or how am I helping my Client?

Your offer has to HELP so getting clear on this can really aid you in sharing your work with the world.

How is this offer different or unique to what is already on the market?

Even if this is your gift and experience, claim it.

How much time it will it take to complete?

Don’t know, run a test run reading or healing session in exchange for a testimonial. I am a huge fan of test runs and practice readings. They allow you to fine tune your craft and get any templates you need set up and testimonials are gold!

How many would you  like to do a week?

We sometimes have an idea of how many readings or healing sessions we want to do a week or how many teaching session but then when it comes to working day in and out your reality can shift a little. Don’t overload yourself to the point of burnout. A slow burn in business is much better than a firework. That is okay. It is part of the refining process.

Are there any costs involved?

Do you need to rent a space or do you need materials? What hourly rate would you like to have as income?

There are more questions I am sure you can answer but these are some that I feel are vital.

Do this process for each of your offers. You can use the information you have gathered to help you write your copy for your site or store.

Now the loaded subject of PRICING.

There are tons of videos and articles about pricing for your readings, healings, classes, products and everyone has an opinion.

I have said it before and I am going to say it again.

Price what you are comfortable with.

This is a very personal thing. I for one know the value of my time, years and years of experience and my energy and I am not going to undercut myself. This is where a ton of people fall over and if it’s one area you find you are having difficulty then if you ever work with me I will hone onto this like it’s hidden chocolate in my apartment. (I WILL find it). Do you go to a Professional of any other job and think they don’t deserve to be paid? Of course not.

Remember what you charge is SET BY YOU, this means it can be increased or changed later.

I see a lot of people I honestly feel are undercharging and some are overcharging, but who the fuck cares it’s just my opinion. You do you and that is all that matters.

So for each of these offers you have to decide what all of those questions and your feelings lead you to put down on paper.

Once you have all of these you can look at setting yourself up. That is what the next video is all about.

The link to the workbook is below, as always.
