Most Solo Entrepreneurs and Spiritual Entrepreneurs go through periods where their businesses get a little slow. We experience times of growth and then some times it is as dead as my last potted plant (and it is DEAD!).
I have put together some things that you can do for mind, body, soul and business.
I would like to start this with be GRATEFUL, be thankful for the time to reflect, relax and work on some projects that have been neglected. When you have built your business to the point where down times are less frequent, you will look back on the time you did have and wish that you did more with it. Trust me!
1. Do your bookkeeping!
It can be boring but it is super important. If you can hire someone to do this, then go ahead but I know we all have that pile of receipts that are a hot mess and from three different financial years. Honestly not everything on the list is as boring as bookkeeping, but it matters..
2. Make a budget for the future
If you don’t have a budget, make one. If you have a budget, look at where you can re-invest in your business for the future. Do you need to spend more on education? Website upgrade? Advertising? I am not one for drowning yourself in debt to start a business. I believe the opposite is possible, so smart money management is smart life management.
3. Cleanse and get organised
Physically clean and organise your workspace and then smoke cleanse it too. Shift those energies and set new intentions. If you align it to a New Moon then you can get your Manifestation on for the coming lunar cycle. This also includes organising your inbox and computer files.
4. Get a massage, read a book, do some healing, get a manicure or a haircut; basically TREAT YO SELF
I love Parks and Rec and Donna is a Goddess!
Do something enjoyable and for yourself. Take the time. No excuses because believe me you can make any excuse when it comes to self care. When we work in a spiritual business we are putting a ton of energy out to helping others. Take your own advise and treat yo self. Treat your body as well, work out or go for a walk, get a delicious and healthy juice down the pipe. Align yourself holistically.
5. Create future content for your site
Being consistent in your vlogging, blogging etc. is my number one piece of advice for success. If you have some time, get three to six months of content for your site ready. This is such a wonderful use of time and then when you are slammed with amazing clients, your blog can run like clockwork!
6. Freebies for your people
The people who have already connected with you and already love you deserve love back. Create a free mini course or cheatsheet or something just as awesome for your already rocking clients, followers and fans. Make it something that adds value and is not just a hidden advertisement. Give, always give.
7. Get your Social Media posts scheduled on Hootsuite (or similar)
Load your Facebook, Twitter and other social media posts all scheduled so you can just let that happen all by the power of internet magic. You can use many programs like Hootsuite for free.
8. Collaborate with a Spiritual Business Buddy
It has to be the right person and someone who works in a field that is in alignment with your work and who you genuinely want to work with. Work on a blog swap or a podcast. This brings your audience to their people and vise versa.
9. Conduct a S.W.O (strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities)
You can read up about this process here. I took the threats out of this as I feel like it is a little negative. When you have completed this for your business, (I would add, to separate you from your business, even if you are a one person business) identify one of the weaknesses or opportunities and get a book or research how you can turn it into a strength. This also includes finding someone to help you with a weakness or opportunity. We can not do everything, nor do I believe should we.
10. Create or participate in a SM challenge
These are a fantastic way to connect to potential colleagues and clients and to get your creative juices flowing. You can use the hashtags to engage with new online friends and people you can work with in the future.
11. Get inspired
Inspiration is not something that gets a free refill the moment you are running low. You need to take the time to invoke your muses. Go see a film you usually wouldn’t have, or listen to music that is not on your playlist. Visit a museum or art gallery. Paint, dance or take an improv class.
12. Review your To Do List and get real with it
I am so guilty for having a To Do list that is super long and keeps growing. When things are slow go through it and ask yourself, am I really going to do this? If not, take it off the list. I like to have a list for weekly tasks and then one for longer term projects. That way I am actually crossing things off my list which is great for motivation
13. Make a dent in your long term goals
If you have a goal to write a book or complete a major project, break it and make a dent in it. Complete a writing sprint, get out of the house and sketch; brainstorm your retreat. Whatever it is, start now.
14. Create new offers or Tarot Spreads for your Clients
Do your current healings and Tarot readings need a little refresh? Is it time to up your prices? Can you try some new Tarot or Oracle deck spreads? Flex your intuitive muscles and build your skills up to add to your current practice.
I hope you have found this list inspiring and can use some of it when you find your business is going through a slow period. It never lasts as long if you are still working. What do you do when your business is slow? Did I miss anything? Let me know.

Handy tips 🙂 I like the idea of taking some time for inspiration you need to recharge when you are always giving. Many Blessings!
