Tarot Review – Tarot of the Tattoo Age

The Tarot of the Tattoo Age is a collaborative deck featuring 77 different artists from around the World. There are 79 cards in the deck with a little white book. And what is pretty cool about the deck is that there are two interpretations of The Fool. One is pretty full on. I am not a huge fan of collaborative Tarot decks and my main reason for this is that there is no cohesive aesthetic to the deck when you have 77 different artistic flavours in one place. I went through the deck and I divided it into three piles,

Decisions, Decisions – Tarot Reading

I have been in my new country and city for six weeks now and I have not been working, which has been driving me a little nuts. I have been trying to embrace it (as someone has been encouraging my stubborn ass to do) but it is coming to the point where play time is over and the bank account needs to start having some funds go in and not all go out. (I can spend money yo!) So I have been interviewing for a few places but I have been also struggling with the fact that a new city

Wizards Tarot Review

The Wizards Tarot is the creation of Corrine Kenner and John J. Blumen and has just been published this year. The Tarot deck is set in and around Mandrake Academy and features the Students of the School (most of the Minor Arcana), the Teachers and Professors (most of the Major Arcana) and the Royal Families (Court Cards). Positives The book is amazing (239 pages) and I would expect nothing less from Corrine who is a fantastic Tarot author. There is enough in the book to keep you busy for a very long time, especially when it comes to the Major

Blinded by the ….

Actually I am not quite sure by what. I consulted the Tarot last night, the first time I have done so since moving house (I also had a dream about using another deck and I kept wondering where the heck my Morgan Greer Tarot cards were, all worn and comfy) and I got these two cards which I wanted to share because they are apparently trying to tell me something. My current situation, I got the 2 of Swords. The person in the card is blindfolded and the two swords lay across their chest with the sea in the background.

The Heart of Faerie Oracle – Review and Pics

I received my copy of The Heart of Faerie Oracle just over a week ago and have spent some time getting familiar with the cards. I was a little reserved when I heard that there was going to be another Deck released by the Froud family but I am so glad that they released it. I really want them to turn their Runes book into a deck as well, (wink, wink) they would be amazing to work with. There are 68 Oracle cards and a beautiful hard cover 160 page book. It has the same texture and smell (yes I like

Tarot and Magic in Popular Culture

It has been a really lazy Easter Weekend. I really should have done some Uni work, maybe taken some more photos for Etsy, completed my book list, but I didn’t. I am currently watching Disney’s the Princess and the Frog. (Oh if only I could sing my Prince Charming to life) The Tarot is used in the movie (how can you not have divination and magic when you are telling a story about New Orleans) and while the villain in the movie uses them, they are at least represented correctly. They use the three card spread, telling the past, present

Tarot – 8 of Cups – Walk Away

This has to be one of the hardest cards to have in the entire deck of the Tarot (for me personally) and I will explain why I think that. The 8 of Cups is about walking away from a situation that no longer serves you positively and because it is the cups, it is all about emotions, relationships and usually painful decisions. The card is also about feeling drained and if you don’t remove yourself from what is keeping you feeling that way you are not going to be able to move into the next card the 9 of Cups
