Example Decision Making 4 Card Tarot Spread
Steps to Using Tarot Cards for Making a Decision
- Step 1: Look through your Tarot, Lenormand or Oracle deck that you’ve chosen to work with and select the card that best represents the choice you’re looking to make. If you’re unsure of what card to use, you can always use The Lovers in the Tarot as this is the card that represents choice.
- Step 2: Place that card in the first position shown in the layout below.
- Step 3: Shuffle the rest of the tarot deck while thinking about the prompt for the second card. When you’re ready select your card and place it in the second position in the layout.
- Step 4: Shuffle the rest of the deck while thinking about the prompt for the third card. When you’re ready select your card and place it in the third position in the layout.
- Step 5: Shuffle the rest of the deck while thinking about the prompt for the fourth card. When you’re ready select your card and place it in the fourth position in the layout.
- Step 6: Interpret your reading.
- The card that represents the decision you are looking to make.
- What my guides and higher self are pointing me towards.
- The potential obstacles, challenges and roadblocks that my choice may encounter.
- The most likely outcome of this decision.

This is great ! Thank you so much
You’re so welcome!
Oh! You shuffle after you choose each card? Interesting technique. Generally speaking, I take the first card, followed by the second, and so on. Every once in a while, I shuffle in between.
Great post!
