Hi, Tarot Bumblebees,

Witches have always been drawn to the moon, especially the full moon. There’s a magic and emotional pull to the beautiful orb in the sky. I’m here to share some of the ways you can work with the magic and power of the full moon. My practice is unique and my own so take what resonates with you and leave the rest.

Full Moon Practices

Spell Work & Spell Crafting

If you want to cast a spell the full moon is a perfect time to do it. You can use the energy of the full moon to bring something into or banish something of your life.

Rituals & Communion

Spellcasting is wanting to manifest a change. Communion is more about your connection to your deity, nature, and the world around you. It’s more of a relationship-building and communion place rather than asking the goddess for something in your life.

Divination Work

No shocker there, I know! Divination in any form is powerful at the full moon. Crack out your Tasseography tools, scrying bowl or mirror, wax divination tools, pendulums, your cartomancy, or tarot readings. A gentle reminder that you don’t need to do your practices under the light of the full moon to be powerful; the moon energy is still there shining down on everybody. However, if you can get outside and soak up some of those moon rays even better.

Make Moon Water

You would bathe spring or purified with the rays of the moon overnight. It’s a way to soak up the powerful energy of the moon. Use it for aura sprays, spell jars, or as a base for Florida water. It’s incredibly versatile and you can create new water every month. It’s even more powerful if it’s raining or snowing on the full moon.

Charge Magical Crystals in the Moon Light

Every full moon, place your tarot deck or crystals in the light of the moon so they can absorb the powerful energy. Not only will this charge it but it will also cleanse it of any leftover energy.

Astral Travel + Lucid Dreaming

Astral travel is a state where you’re able to project your body astrally to a place. Lucid dreaming is when you’re aware you’re dreaming but you’re able to control your dreams. Both of these practices take a lot of practice, this isn’t something you can usually just do right off the start. I’d recommend doing plenty of research online as there’s too much information to type in this little blog post. This is definitely something you can learn. Try using the power of the full moon to aid you in your learning.

Cycles of the Moon

There are multiple phases that the moon goes through each cycle. Phases of the moon will look completely different in each hemisphere. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, your New Moon is going to look different than those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. All of these moon phases are going to differ in cycle depending on your geographical location. I’d recommend this app to track them.

New Moon

The new moon is a little sliver. It represents starting new projects. Set intentions and manifestations for the cycle and pinpoint the work you want to do. It is a time of new beginnings and going after new goals

Waxing Moon

This is the transition from the new moon to a full moon. Every night there will be more light shining as it grows and grows in power. Still a great moon to manifest bringing things into your life. It can be increasing power, love, wealth, health; anything you want to bring into your life.

Full Moon

The full moon is when she’s big, bright, and beautiful. The full moon energy is no joke. Emotions can run hard and psychic visions can be on point so it’s a great time for divination.

Waning Moon

The time after the full moon when the power and the light of the moon start to diminish. During this time, the magic of dispersion, leaving, banishing is perfect.

Dark of the Moon

This one’s very self-explanatory. There’s no light shining down – it’s completely dark.

Until Next time...
