I’ve got a Jar full of LOVE

I’ve got a Jar full of LOVE

This month S.C.O.T.I.F. celebrated our first LoveFest

I came up with the name as I wanted something to go with the feeling of the work we were going to be doing in Circle that month.

Through initial discussions we were going to have something like a dedication ceremony or ‘self wedding’ where we took the time to honour ourselves and make a promise to ourselves in sacred space.

This then moved to creating these little amazing beauties.

We are not 100% sure who mentioned the idea first for Gratitude Jars but the idea really was embraced whole heartedly by everyone being uber crafty and all and the lovely Tahni being a self confessed jar hoarder.

Gathering at Faery Sarah’s beautiful home we moved inside due to rain and got to creating our own jars with crystals, silk, wool, stickers and a boat load of glitter.  I personally loved the fact that we could open the jar lids and fill it with all sorts of goodies! Mine has lots of glitter and crystals in it.

After completing the craftiness and having a tea break (along with the most amazing Mexican dips and yummy food) we sat down and wrote love notes to each other to share and then place in our jars.

The most beautiful part of the entire day was sharing these with each other. With many tears, hugs and words of love and appreciation we will filled by the love and connection that we all shared. It is amazing when the time and space is allowed what comes up when we give people the opportunity  to really see us. Many of us have known each other for over 5 years (some over 10) and have been there through the good and the not so good, the long weekends away camping when nothing works and we are all freezing, the amazing rituals and life celebrations that we share together and allowing each one of our personalities and energies to be just as they are and that is quite the thing indeed.

Sometimes the full ceremony of circle isn’t required, sometimes it is simply a matter of spending time with the right people, creating things of meaning and beauty and appreciating and love those people with an open heart.

Gratitude jars are created to place items of gratitude or little notes when someone does something nice for you or for the things that bring you joy. I don’t think that there are any hard and fast rules when it comes to creating and adding to your jars which is one of the beautiful things about it. I for one would love to sit in sacred space again in 12 months and go through the contents of the jar and be reminded of how lucky and blessed I am.

Until Next time...
