Pride Month is a time of joyful celebration, heartfelt reflection, and fierce advocacy. Born from the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, Pride is a response to a history of erasure, violence, and resistance. It honors the queer elders, activists, and community members who have paved the way for greater visibility, safety, and love. And while so much progress has been made, the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and dignity is far from over. Pride remains vital as queer communities continue to face discrimination, legislative attacks, and societal pushback worldwide.
