I have talked before about what I do to energetically and physically prepare for a reading and what protections I use so now I am going to give you a little guide of suggestions for after your Tarot Readings are complete. I am all for closing the circle of energy and taking care of myself after a reading.
After you have finished your Tarot readings whether it is one reading or a full day it is important to ground yourself, bring your energy back into yourself and center.
So here are my tips for Grounding after a Tarot Reading. (Can also be used for Oracle readings, healings and energetic work of all kinds).
Just like everything I suggest do only what feels right for you. Ad your own practice to it and allow your intuition to guide you.

Thank your Guides
If you have called any assistance in it is polite to thank them. You can thank your Spirit Guides, Angels, Ancestors if you have asked for them to be with you in your reading in any way that has meaning for you. I simple thank you with loving intent is just as good as a long prayer. It closes the circle of giving and receiving and is respectful.
Keep your water consumption up. I am not going to lecture you on drinking enough water (but you should be drinking water, put that energy drink down that shit is terrible for you). Drink your dam water. It is an internal cleanser in more than one way.
Grab a lovely beverage too. My go to is tea but even if it’s just one big glass of water. Drink it. Water is a energetic and elemental cleanser. We consist of a lot of water. Fill up your tank.
Close your energy centres, ground and centre.
This can be done through your Chakras if you choose to use them. You can see a white light envelope your body. You can take time to go through a complete visualisation that will help you ground and centre.
Even breathing in and out deeply while seeing your energy come back into yourself is better than not doing anything.
Eat Grounding Food
Your body will know what it wants. I try not to eat junk food after readings because it is not something that sits well with my body. Fresh foods are always good and fruit is excellent because of the natural sugar. Also something with carbs that will help you ground. A favorite of mine is a piece of peanut butter toast and a banana!
You can use these sprays in between readings if you are having a full day of readings too. I use Aura-Soma sprays but you can simply create your own. A favorite one of mine is a few drops of rosemary oil and a few drops of lavender oil with spring water as the carrier. Use a glass bottle and I even put a couple of rose quartz mini stones at the bottom for added energy. Shake it up before you use it and spray it above your head and shoulders a bit of a distance away from your body.
Write out your reading experiences in your Tarot Journal. I found that after doing a full day of Tarot readings I can sometimes carry my Clients energy and experience around as I have a good memory. So getting these experiences down on paper can help me let them go in a mental way. The other steps here take care of the physical and spiritual aspects. If you have a confidant you can talk to you can do that too. As long as you don’t share any personal information about your Clients.
Bath or Shower
There is nothing like a good bath or shower to further cleans your self. If you have time for a lovely ritualised bath (lucky you!) then go for it. Add some epsom salts and or your favorite oils to aid your relaxation. If you are having a shower you can use a salt scrub to help clear off your body.
I love using Sage and Palo Santo these are my two go to items for smudging. You can use any cleansing herb or sweet grass.
So there are my tips and personal practices that I use when it comes to close out a reading. It helps with keeping headaches and illness away and it is also good spiritual and personal hygiene.
