This weekend I had such a great time at the Australian Wiccan Conference going back to the real world and work has been an adjustment.
Friday night we arrived at the place where the local Pagan social club holds an annual camp to meet and great new people. One of the highlights for me over the weekend was all of the new people that either came from other states in Australia or were from WA and had not been to a Combined Covens even before.
Saturday was when the spiritual work really began, there was complete rosters of lectures and I went to the OTO lecture and also the Grail from a Pagan Perspective Workshop in the morning. I had such a great realization at the OTO workshop about The Temperance Card in the Tarot. The lecture was not even about that but still, AH HA! moments come at all times. We finished the lecture with a midday ritual to the Sun.
The Grail workshop was great presented by an Elder in the community I had not met before this weekend it challenged all of use to think about the Grail and how that translates to our own personal path. The weekend had the theme of ‘walking the path’ and this fit right into it. Along with the magical mythologies of the Grail there was a journey work sheet given to us all for future individual work.
After lunch I decided to have a nap, sleep is not something that we do much on the weekends like this so I enjoyed the peace while most people where out walking and exploring and at other workshops.
We then got ready for ritual and were put into the elements to have an active part in the wonderful Ostara Ritual by The Temple which was complete with the large group marching to the ritual space with different songs of the elements with flag bearers and drummers. There we celebrated the Spring Queen and her Consort and the changing of the season.
After was the feast we had Wendy Rule perform a concert for us all. We were so unbelievably lucky considering she and her partner had just arrived from LA that afternoon. Performance with that much energy and magick is best when there is an intimate setting and as always she was amazing.
Much merry making late into the night. One thing I learnt on the Saturday night while talking to one of my spiritual sisters around the camp fire was this “we only go after what we think we are worth” that was my second AH HA! moment of the weekend. While I am sure I have heard this said before, maybe not on the same lines it really hit home for me in that moment. The second that message registered in my head I started to go back into my past and apply that to my relationships……that was bloody scary!
Sunday we had a Fete in the morning and a final workshop with Wendy Rule titled My Sister the Moon. Then after our lunch we had a round moot and closed out the camp.
I was lucky to have yesterday off to come back down and get ready to come back to the ‘Muggle’ world!
Such a great weekend and I feel very spiritually re-charged and with a lot of enthusiasm in regards to keeping the work up spiritually. I did’t have time really to take any photos so these ones are from the Facebook page.
